Paul Huntly’s career as a wig maker and hair designer spans some thirty-five years. Starting out as an actor in London, he developed an interest in theatrical hair, wigs, and make-up and went to work for Stanley Hall at Wig Creations, where he learned the history and traditions of hairstyles throughout the ages.
Huntley arrived In New York in 1971 to make wigs for director Mike Nichols’s film Carnal Knowledge
. He then launched a Broadway, film and television career that has included wigs and hair for Cats
, My Fair Lady
, Evita, Dreamgirls, Chicago, Cabaret
and A Bronx Tale
A recipient of the Drama Desk and Tony awards, he has worked with the some of the most legendary leading ladies of the cinema, ranging from Bette Davis, Mae West, Marlene Dietrich and Vivien Leigh to Jane Fonda, Faye Dunaway, Glenn Close, and Jessica Lange.
